English Pronunciation for Malaysians
This two-hour workshop was part of the IPGKDRI (Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Dato' Razali Ismail) JBB (Languages Department) 3-day retreat to Kota Bharu, September 4-6, 2012. It takes a brief look at some of the pronunciation differences between Bahasa Malaysia and Engish, and then there is a game of "Bingo!" and a game of "Typhoon!" for practice.
The "Bingo!" game was created using the Picture Bingo Card maker at eslactivities.com - I used the Picture Cards because the fonts supported in their regular word bingo do not support phonetic script. (They have a great Bingo Card maker for normal words, though!)
If you don't know about "Typhoon!", sometimes called "Blown Away!", you can find instructions here, and here. (Here is a link to the workshop manual from ELTC Conference 2011.)
Below is a downloadable PDF manual from the session. (It is created in greyscale for easy photocopying.)
