Ruth Wickham presented a workshop along with colleague Azlinda bt Abd Aziz. They  researched how to increase motivation of Malaysian children to read (in English) by discovering what they are interested in. They used a survey and then interviewed selected children in the Teaching School (connected to IPGKDRI). Following this research, they produced some small storybooks, tested them on the children concerned, and then presented a workshop to enable Malaysian teachers to follow the same path with their students.

For full details of the project and the presentation go to the Stories for Malaysian Kids website (follow the link).
